Robotic Metal Polishing Feasibility Friday

Time to finish off a busy week with another #FeasibilityFriday! This time we’re looking at a metal polishing application.

In this feasibility trial, carried out for an engineering company that designs and manufactures steel and titanium products, the cobot is required to polish a metal sheet. The Universal Robots UR5e is fitted with a Dynabrade Random Orbital Sander with a polishing pad. This application also uses the Robotiq Finishing Co-Pilot software to apply a constant force across the surface and to follow a recorded path.
